The Issues.
Protect Life
- "Life" was the first "unalienable right" named in the Declaration of Independence, as it is "endowed by Our Creator."
- The Family Policy Council remains committed to protecting the most vulnerable among us, honoring our nation's legacy of protecting innocent life.
Economic Prosperity
- Research shows that financial issues are the third leading cause of divorce, accounting for 22 percent of all dissolved marriages.
- The Family Policy Council understands that breadwinners must be able to provide for their families. The government should embrace policies that create a stable economic environment.
Religious Tolerance
- The concept of religious toleration accelerated in the Age of Enlightenment, which occurred throughout the eighteenth century. Toleration began to be viewed as a sign of progress, necessary modernity, and an essential quality of peaceful, advanced, and wealthy countries.
- Today, many left-wing secularists with hidden agendas have attempted to oppose legislation that promotes religious tolerance, claiming that religious protections hinder 'societal progress.' They turn reality on its head, lobbying for agendas that would take West Virginia back to the Dark Ages. The Family Policy Council will always defend West Virginians' right to believe.
